Everyone is aware of the fact that Verstappen is not the biggest fan of the new regulations, especially at the start of the season. Recently, the driver has stated that he still “loves” the sport enough to push past the regulations. Verstappen also cooled down the rumours circulating of his leaving by saying that “there is nothing to tell, because nothing is going on” when talking with media, and that Red Bull is like family to him.

Verstappen currently sits seventh in the driver’s championship, 113 points behind leader Antonelli. Red bull sits in fourth for the constructors’ championship. But as we saw last year, Max has come back from worse positions.

Factors That Could Potentially Help Verstappen

Antonelli and Russell will continue to battle each other for wins and take points from each other. Mercedes also has been showing some reliability issues throughout the season. If this continues, it could open doors for Red BUll to take advantage of.

Ferrari and McLaren continue to battle Mercedes and take points away from the Silver Arrows. Helping Max slowly close the gap between him and the leaders.

Red Bull introduced a new upgrade package before Austria and has been on an “upward trend” as Verstappen states. If this trend continues, Max could be seeing more podiums, and getting back into the fight. Verstappen has stated that he is focused on working with the car to get the best result out of it. He is positive that the team can keep the upward momentum they have going, after the summer break.

Red Bull is determined to get at least one grand prix win this season – with either Verstappen or Hadjar. They have a developmental plan in place that they are actively working on, hoping that this helps them get back into the race. The team has also said that they will do anything in their power to obtain a win.
