The Week Ahead
Charles Leclerc’s victory at Silverstone tightened the fight behind championship leader Kimi Antonelli, who heads to Spa 25 points clear of teammate George Russell after a difficult British weekend. Ferrari’s resurgence has added another premium option to a fantasy landscape previously dominated by Mercedes, making this week’s central decision whether to back Antonelli for an immediate rebound or follow Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton’s improving form. The F1 Fantasy Belgian GP 2026 is not a Sprint weekend, giving fantasy players three practice sessions to assess pace, reliability, and Spa’s notoriously unpredictable weather before locking in their lineups.

The Circuit
Spa-Francorchamps is the calendar’s longest lap at just over 7 km, combining flat-out sections through Eau Rouge and Raidillon (Turns 2/3/4) and along the Kemmel Straight with fast, flowing corners and major elevation changes. Slipstreaming and heavy braking into Les Combes (Turns 5/6) create regular overtaking opportunities, making positions-gained points realistic for quick midfield cars starting out of place. A dry Belgian Grand Prix traditionally favours a one-stop strategy, but increased tyre degradation could push teams towards two stops. Attrition is typically moderate, although Spa’s speed and changing conditions magnify mistakes; the Safety Car has appeared in six of the last eight races, while DNFs generally affect two or three drivers. Friday carries a 40% shower risk, but Sunday currently only has a 10% chance of rain. Spa rewards frontrunners with strong straight-line speed, yet overtaking, weather, and Safety Car potential create genuine upside for midfield value picks.

Fantasy Implications from F1 News
- McLaren: Both cars will run the upgraded Mercedes power unit for the first time in Belgium, as well as a new rear wing assembly. Their engineers aren’t expecting a major improvement, but the effects remain to be seen. Expect a bigger improvement in Hungary.
- George Russell: Analysis has shown that Russell is braking for longer throughout a lap than Antonelli, resulting in more battery usage and leaving him with less power to deploy on straights. With Spa’s long straights, expect a further disadvantage from Russell’s driving style.
- Aston Martin: The team is still stuck with their current Honda engine until after the summer break. Continue to avoid all three assets until after Hungary.

F1 Fantasy Belgian GP 2026 — FAQ
Who should I Boost in F1 Fantasy for the Belgian GP?
Mercedes still seem to be the early favourites this weekend, so you should Boost one of their drivers, ideally Kimi Antonelli.
Is Spa-Francorchamps good for overtaking in F1 Fantasy?
Yes, it’s one of the best circuits for overtaking, with the long Kemmel Straight and heavy braking zone at Les Combes creating regular passing opportunities. For F1 Fantasy players, that makes quick drivers starting out of position especially valuable, as they can recover through the field and collect both overtaking and positions-gained points.
Who are the best value picks for F1 Fantasy at the Belgian GP?
The Racing Bulls drivers have continued their strong midfield form, helping both the drivers and constructor assets continue rising in price. Audi and Alpine have also shown strong pace recently, along with Franco Colapinto and Gabriel Bortoleto.
